The course includes:

Students review of course materials prior to attending class.
Materials are included.

3 to 4 hours of class, where students review study materials and test their knowledge
in a group setting with a certified instructor.

Two pool sessions, 3-4 hours each. Students will learn to perform and execute dive skills under direct supervision. Students must demonstrate passing knowledge and proficiency of all dive skills in the pool, before proceeding to final certification. (at the discretion of the instructor)**Students are required to swim 200m and tread water/float for 10 minutes as a prerequisite to learning scuba.

Do you know the difference between "blade fins" and "Split fins" and why you might choose to purchase one or the other? During training you will learn about all styles and types of equipment.

Every diver needs his or her own personal equipment to be able to scuba dive. Initially that equipment consists of a mask, fins and a snorkel. This equipment is fitted to the individual. Since most students do not know what equipment to purchase, and what is considered "a good fit", Pirates Cove Scuba offers students the opportinity to start class using our equipment. When you decide to purchase your own gear, the rental fee will be applied toward the purchase.
